30 Years of Journey and Still Growing Strong

Our founder, a UN social worker from Switzerland, started his journey from a lake in Central Java and found that there were still many local villagers who did not have a livelihood.

Their old fishing boat cannot catch enough fish to feed their family, even though the lake is very rich in resources.

Furthermore, our founders are committed to establishing responsible aquaculture and providing jobs to the local community.

His mission includes developing programs for the welfare of villagers, protecting the environment and the purity of freshwater lakes.

Our Journey

1988

Founded in 1988 in Wunut, Central Java. PT Aquafarm Nusantara (PT AN) started operating in 1989.

1991

In 1991, we expanded our business with floating net cages and opened our first fish hatchery.

1994

Regal Spring exports to the United States and opens its first sales office.

1998

We started cultivating Tilapia fish on Lake Toba and opened a fish hatchery and processing factory in Lubuk Naga, Medan.

2012

Regal Springs Indonesia is the first Tilapia producer in the world certified for ASC (Aquaculture Stewardship Council).

2019

We launched Regal Springs "Kami Peduli (We Care)" - the world's first comprehensive, integrated, sustainable Tilapia aquaculture program.

Today

Regal Springs is the largest and responsible producer of premium Tilapia, also serving as a solution provider to retail and culinary services.
