Toba (21/06) Regal Springs Indonesia (PT Aqua Farm Nusantara) demonstrated its commitment to supporting environmental and animal conservation by initiating an Eco-Education Field Trip activity with around 80 children from SDN 091464 Parapat.
The activity was carried out on Friday (20/06) at the Aek Nauli Elephant Conservation Camp (ANECC), Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, an elephant conservation center which is also an important location for wildlife conservation in the Aek Nauli tropical forest area.
The purpose of this activity is to provide a fun learning experience by combining an educational approach and direct interaction with nature and animals. In addition, this event was also combined with one of Regal Springs Indonesia’s leading CSR programs, namely the Joint Fish Eating Movement as a form of company support to popularize eating fish (Gemarikan).
“We hope that this activity will not only provide new experiences for children in maintaining the ecosystem, but also education on the importance of nutrition and nutrients from healthy food,” said Arum P. Handayani, Head of Legal and Corporate Affairs, Regal Springs Indonesia.
The series of events began with an educational session introducing elephants and their habitats by the ANECC education team. Children also learned about the importance of animal welfare, and how they, as the younger generation, can play an active role in protecting nature. After the educational session, participants were invited to interact directly with elephants, including feeding and observing animal behavior from close range.
The activity was also combined with one of Regal Springs Indonesia’s flagship CSR programs, namely the Joint Fish Eating Movement “Tilapia Protein Smartens the Nation”. The students enjoyed a healthy lunch made from tilapia fish as part of the nutrition education and campaign to increase fish consumption from an early age.
Boby Purba, Head of the ANNEC Resort and CA. Batu Gajah welcomed this initiative. He considered that the involvement of private parties such as Regal Springs Indonesia was very important in expanding the reach of conservation education to the community, especially children.
“We are very happy to be part of this educational activity. Hopefully in the future Regal Springs Indonesia can bring more children to learn directly in nature,” said Boby Purba
Through this program, Regal Springs Indonesia hopes to strengthen the relationship between humans and nature, and instill the values of sustainability to the next generation of the nation. The company believes that environmental preservation is not only the responsibility of one party, but requires the involvement of all parties including children as agents of future change.
