Serdang Bedagai (08/09) – Regal Springs Indonesia has distributed pipe donations as a means of flood prevention in the rice field areas of Naga Kisar Village and Sei Nagalawan Village, Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra (07/09). This initiative is in collaboration with the Guideline for Empowering Water Users Farmers Association (P3A) of Naga Kisar Village and Sei Nagalawan Village.
The rice field areas in several villages in Serdang Bedagai Regency are often affected by floods during the rainy season, leading to damage in these areas and disrupting the cultivation and harvesting processes. “This support is one of the company’s efforts to contribute to the productive activities of the community and support food security, particularly in agriculture,” said Agam Junaidi Sinaga, Community Affairs Manager of Regal Springs Indonesia.
The installation of six pipes was carried out at the beginning of September 2022, and the rainwater will be directed to the Nipah River in Dusun III, Sei Nagalawan Village. Ahmad, the Head of Naga Kisar Village, who was also present during the pipe installation process, expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by Regal Springs Indonesia. “We hope that the company’s assistance can help address the issues faced by farmers in Naga Kisar Village and Sei Nagalawan Village, especially during the rainy season,” Ahmad said.
Regal Springs Indonesia has previously undertaken efforts to support agricultural activities in Naga Kisar Village and Sei Nagalawan Village, including the normalization of canals and the removal of water hyacinths to ensure smooth water flow in the rice field areas. “The cleaning of canals every two months will be made a regular agenda by the company,” added Sahrial, Community Affairs representative of Regal Springs Indonesia.
