
Medan, 21 January 2025 – Regal Springs Indonesia (PT Aqua Farm Nusantara) received a visit from the Coordinating Ministry for Food of the Republic of Indonesia, Deputy for Maritime Resources Coordination in the Hatchery & Processing Plant Area in Serdang Bedagai Regency, North Sumatra (21/01).
This visit is in the context of synchronization, coordination and strengthening food self-sufficiency.
The delegation from the Coordinating Ministry for Food of the Republic of Indonesia was represented by Dandy Satria Iswara, S.Ip., M.Si, Deputy for Maritime Resources Coordination, Cahyadi Rasyid, Assistant Deputy for Aquaculture Development, Yogi Yanuar, Assistant Deputy for Capture Fisheries Management.
During this visit, the group directly observed the tilapia processing process, from hatching to final processing, which is carried out by Regal Springs Indonesia by applying sustainability principles.
The series of activities began with a visit to the Hatchery unit. The team from the Coordinating Ministry for Food saw firsthand how Regal Springs Indonesia developed superior tilapia seeds.
This process is carried out by validating a comprehensive breeding program for each generation of tilapia fish produced and to ensure that the tilapia fish produced are of high quality, support healthy fish growth, and maintain the sustainability of the aquatic ecosystem.
The activity then continued with a visit to the Processing Plant (fish processing unit). Here, the group witnessed firsthand how exported tilapia fish are processed to the best standards through methods that prioritize hygiene, food safety, and the concept of zero waste.
Regal Springs Indonesia utilizes all parts of the fish, including producing by-products such as fish oil, fish stomachs, scales and others as part of the company’s commitment to sustainability principles.
