PT AquaFarm Nusantara Trains Employees as COVID-19 Education Ambassadors

Medan, October 26, 2020 – In support of the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community, PT AquaFarm Nusantara conducted a COVID-19 education ambassador training program for employees at the Lubuk Naga processing plant on Saturday (10/24).

During the opening of the training program, Sri Rusmianawati, the Manager of the Lubuk Naga Processing Plant, stated that the safety of employees and the community is always the highest priority for PT AquaFarm Nusantara.

“This activity is an important effort for the company to protect employees, the community, and the company during this pandemic,” said Ana. “Since most of our employees live in the surrounding villages, we need to participate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in the community by supporting our employees to become COVID-19 education ambassadors in their respective villages,” explained Ana.

Ana added that the company emphasizes to the employees participating in the training to diligently apply basic health protocols in all activities carried out while working at the company and when engaging in community activities.

“By implementing health protocols, they can set an example for their neighbors on how to practice COVID-19 protocols in their daily lives. They can also share health information with their families and neighbors,” Ana added.

Meanwhile, Dian Octavia, Senior Manager of Corporate & Community Affairs, added that this training was conducted in collaboration with the Community Health Center (Puskemas) Educators, who are also part of the COVID-19 Task Force in Pantai Cermin Subdistrict, Serdang Bedagai Regency. “This training aims to equip our employees with the necessary information to become COVID-19 education ambassadors in the community. This activity is part of the KAMI PEDULI (We Care) Community Program for COVID-19,” said Dian Octavia.

Dian further explained that PTAN continues to collaborate with local governments to conduct socialization and education related to COVID-19 prevention. “Previously, we have conducted a series of socialization activities on COVID-19 safety protocols in four villages in the Pantai Cermin, Perbaungan, and Teluk Mengkudu districts, particularly for the communities residing around the processing plant in Lubuk Naga. In the near future, we will conduct socialization for the communities around our operations in Ajibata, Toba Regency,” said Dian.

Through the KAMI PEDULI (We Care) Community Program for COVID-19, PT AquaFarm Nusantara has distributed educational materials, face masks, hand soap, disinfectant materials, handwashing stations, and health equipment to the community and community health centers to help reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission.
