Medan (4/06) – Regal Springs Indonesia (PT Aqua Farm Nusantara) reinforces its commitment to the sustainable development and cultivation of fisheries. One strategic step taken is opening avenues for cooperation and collaboration with universities in Indonesia.
This commitment is realized by Regal Springs Indonesia through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Sumatera Utara (USU), focusing on the development of education, research, and community service.
The signing was represented by the President Director of Regal Springs Indonesia, Rudolf Hoeffelman, and the Vice Dean for Cooperation, Research, and Community Service at the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si, in Medan, Tuesday (04/06).
In his speech, Hoeffelman stated that this synergistic cooperation aligns with Regal Springs Indonesia’s mission to develop human resources in enhancing the sustainable fisheries industry.
“This Memorandum of Agreement serves as a strategic foundation for both parties. With the support of the Faculty of Agriculture USU, we are confident in achieving our shared goals in advancing the fisheries and aquaculture sector,” Hoeffelman explained.
The Vice Dean for Cooperation, Research, and Community Service at the Faculty of Agriculture USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Elisa Julianti, M.Si, added, “This cooperation is an important step in strengthening collaboration between academia and industry. We hope that this cooperation can make a real contribution to society and the environment,” Elisa stated.
As additional information, this Memorandum of Agreement encompasses several key aspects, including; Human resource development involving students, lecturers, and employees through various activities such as knowledge-sharing programs, research by lecturers and students, internships, public lectures, and mentoring.
Sustainable Integrated Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, through joint research in fish farming, fish farming results, waste and fish disease management, and environmental issues such as lake water quality and environmental emissions.
System and Technology Development, focusing on research and development of renewable and environmentally friendly technologies, management, and businesses that support the sustainability of aquaculture industry.
As well as community service through various activities that can provide direct and indirect benefits to the community.
